The Master's in Addiction Intervention (Maitrise en intervention en dependances) is a 45-credit second-cycle, professional programme at the Universite de Sherbrooke, offered on the Longueuil campus. It trains specialized practitioners to work with people at risk of, or experiencing, complex addiction-related problems, from early to curative intervention, and to supervise other practitioners, develop projects, and evaluate interventions and programmes. Students learn to adapt interventions to clients' situations, assess complex addiction problems, communicate professionally in French, apply ethical principles, and carry out a structured project related to intervention, supervision, project development or programme evaluation, considering biological, psychological and social dimensions and current best practices. A part-time cohort alternates between in-person and distance delivery in alternating years.
