This doctoral program develops and integrates knowledge across the environmental sciences, training researchers able to formulate a research problem, analyse the dynamics of an environmental system, design a study strategy, and carry out original research independently to a standard of excellence. It aims to produce scientists able to work across disciplinary boundaries, building interfaces with other fields of environmental science and engaging with the interdependencies of environmental issues across academic, professional, governmental, associative, and entrepreneurial settings. Students are placed in a multidisciplinary framework that draws on the human and material resources of several departments and on affiliated interuniversity research centres. The 90-credit Doctorat en sciences de l'environnement takes four years of full-time study under standard progress. It is delivered on campus at the Saguenay campus, with admission offered in the fall, winter, and summer terms.
