This Bachelor of Arts in Dance offers three concentrations: Artistic Practices (90 credits, with interpretation, creation, or creation-support profiles), Social Practices (90 credits, focused on community engagement and somatic education), and Teaching (120 credits, preparing dance educators for preschool through secondary levels). Across all three, the curriculum develops both the theoretical and practical study of contemporary dance, building individual creative and technical competency through studio-based training, choreographic work, and reflection on the body as a medium. The Social Practices concentration extends this training toward dance's use in community and health-oriented settings, while the Teaching concentration combines dance training with pedagogy coursework and leads to a Quebec teaching licence, requiring students to meet the province's French-language certification standard, TECFEE, before graduation. The program is offered full-time and part-time, with admission in the fall term only on the Montreal campus, and enrolment is capped (programme contingente).
