Overview
This 90-credit Bachelor of Arts in Ancient Studies at Universite Laval examines Greco-Roman and Judeo-Christian civilizations through literature, history, archaeology, philosophy, languages, and religious studies. Students study classical and ancient oriental languages alongside coursework developing critical thinking, research, and communication skills. The programme draws on multiple disciplinary perspectives to analyse ancient texts and cultures. Graduates are prepared for further graduate study or for roles in education, cultural institutions, publishing, and other sectors that value research and analytical writing skills. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Quebec CEGEP graduates may enter with any DEC. Applicants from elsewhere in Canada need a high school diploma plus one year of university study, or must complete a preparatory pathway in humanities if they hold only a secondary diploma. International applicants may qualify with an equivalent pre-university credential, including a French or Belgian secondary certificate; selection is based on the quality of the academic record. Non-francophone applicants must pass a French-proficiency test (TCF tout public).
