This Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy provides broad training in philosophy through both the history of the discipline and discussion of contemporary philosophical questions. The 90-credit program develops critical thinking, logical reasoning, argumentation, textual analysis, and academic writing, and integrates contemporary perspectives, including non-Western and Indigenous philosophical traditions, alongside the Western canon. The program allows students to progressively specialize according to their interests while maintaining a broad grounding across the discipline's major branches. Students can complete the degree full-time or part-time, with new admissions in the Fall and Winter terms. The program leads to a Bachelier ès arts, B.A., and prepares graduates for further graduate study in philosophy as well as careers requiring strong analytical and communication skills, such as law, public administration, journalism, and education.
