Overview

This 30-credit undergraduate certificate in Psychosocial Intervention at Universite du Quebec a Montreal is intended for students who already have field experience in a helping or community setting and want formal training in communication and intervention skills. The program develops competencies for working with individuals and groups facing personal, social, or community difficulties, combining foundational concepts in psychosocial intervention with applied methods used across community organizations and social services. It is designed as a standalone credential and can also serve as a stepping stone toward further university study in the social sciences or human-relations fields. The certificate is offered on a full-time or part-time basis at the Montreal campus, with admission in the fall and winter terms.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Admission is possible on one of four bases: holding a DEC (Diplome d'etudes collegiales) or its equivalent; being at least 21 years old with appropriate knowledge and at least six months of full-time-equivalent experience in psychosocial intervention; having completed five university-level courses (fifteen credits) at the time of application; or holding an appropriate diploma obtained outside Quebec after at least thirteen years of schooling. All applicants must demonstrate satisfactory written and spoken French proficiency.
