Overview
The Certificate in Administration is a 30-credit undergraduate certificate offered by UQAT's School of Indigenous Studies, delivered through distance learning. It provides foundational management education across core business functions, with mandatory courses in organizational management, economics, financial management, human resource management, business law, marketing, and basic accounting. Students complete three additional optional credits chosen from areas such as information management, organizational behaviour, project management, finance and taxation, human resource management, business intelligence, marketing, or accounting. The program develops students' ability to analyze corporate functions, apply a rational decision-making model, use financial and accounting analysis in general administration, and understand the financial and economic mechanisms behind organizational decision-making. It can also count toward a bachelor's degree by accumulation of certificates in the business administration sector. Course delivery requires internet access and a device capable of headphone, microphone, and camera use for remote participation.

Admission Requirements: Admission is available through three routes. Under the college route, applicants must hold a Diploma of College Studies (DSC) or the equivalent. Under the university-studies route, applicants must have completed a minimum of twelve university credits, or a short program of at least nine credits in management sciences, with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.3 out of 4.3 or the equivalent. Under the experience route, applicants must be at least 21 years old, demonstrate appropriate knowledge and preparation for university study (assessed through testing or interviews as required), and have held a position of at least one full-time year in a private, public, or non-profit organization giving them relevant administrative experience, attested by an employer letter; a motivation letter is also required.
