This 30-credit certificate from Universite du Quebec en Abitibi-Temiscamingue develops skills, competencies, and knowledge in data science for business applications. Students learn to understand the data lifecycle within an organization and apply that understanding to integrate data science into business processes and decision-making, building the analytical literacy needed to support evidence-based business decisions. The program suits managers and other professionals in management sciences who want to build data literacy for use in a business setting, without requiring a prior technical background in computing or statistics. Candidates admitted without a recognized mathematics course must pass a mathematics-knowledge validation test, or complete the remedial course MAT1000 Mathematics for Management, within twelve months of admission. It is offered at the Rouyn-Noranda campus and through distance education, both on a part-time basis, with intakes in the fall, winter, and summer terms.
