This Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program teaches students to analyze the major economic phenomena shaping modern society, combining economic theory with quantitative methods so graduates can evaluate policy impacts and provide economic analysis in fields such as finance, international trade, environment, health care, and labour markets. The program totals 90 credits over approximately 3 years of full-time study, with three concentration options — Policy Analysis and Communication, Financial Economics, or Economic Data Science — and four study profiles: Sustainable Development, Distinction, Entrepreneurial, and International. Students can pursue internships and research experiences, and courses are offered through a mix of in-person and distance delivery. Admission for Quebec DEC holders requires a DEC in sciences, letters, and arts, or any other DEC plus completion of a mathematics objective, with a minimum college average required (remedial coursework applies below the threshold). Applicants from outside Quebec need a secondary diploma plus one year of university study with a satisfactory mathematics background, or a 13-year pre-university diploma, or 12 years plus one year of post-secondary study. Intake is offered in the Fall and Winter terms.
