This 45-credit Master of Arts (M.A.) programme with thesis offers multidisciplinary training in the study of Antiquity, completed in an estimated two years of full-time study. It is unique in French in North America and covers ancient history, archaeology, literature, philosophy, and related fields, including ancient Christianity, patristics, Gnosticism, and Manichaeism. Students complete a research thesis under faculty supervision, developing skills in ancient-language analysis, textual criticism, and historical research. Teaching is delivered in French.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in classical or ancient studies, or a related field such as history, archaeology, literature, philosophy, theology, or religious studies, with a program or graduation grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.33 scale. Because teaching is conducted in French, applicants must have a good command of French. Candidates must also demonstrate knowledge of Latin and Greek at least at the Initiation II level with a minimum grade of C, a good understanding of English or German, and a minimal understanding of another language.
