This research-based Master of Science (M.Sc.) programme trains graduates as researchers or specialist engineers capable of leading applied research programmes. Areas of study include physical metallurgy, materials science, aluminum technology, biomaterials, surface engineering, medical imaging, and corrosion and durability. Students complete graduate coursework and an original research project under faculty supervision, culminating in a thesis; a research supervisor must be confirmed before applying, as admission cannot proceed without a supervising professor's agreement. Instruction is delivered mainly in French; reading proficiency in English is also needed for success in the programme. The programme must be pursued full-time, though some courses may be offered at a distance. The nominal full-time duration is two years. Admission is offered for the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms.
