Overview
The Certificate in Public Relations at Universite TELUQ is a 30-credit, first-cycle university certificate delivered entirely online. The program develops competencies in identifying an organization's strategic communication issues and in designing and implementing communication plans, combining theoretical grounding with applied public-relations practice. Students complete 15 credits of required courses covering public-relations fundamentals, communication planning, and professional practice, plus 15 elective credits chosen from courses in administration, communication, marketing, event management, and professional writing. Two required courses, RPL 2003 and RPL 2004, must be completed first, establishing the program's core methodology before students move into applied and elective coursework. Graduates are prepared to manage internal and external communications and to advise organizations on public-relations strategy. As with all TELUQ programs, courses are self-paced and can be completed from any location, with no scheduled class times. The certificate can stand alone or be combined with other TELUQ certificates toward a bachelor's degree.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to the Public Relations Certificate follows one of three routes: holding a Diplome d'etudes collegiales (DEC) or the equivalent; being at least 21 years old with appropriate knowledge and relevant experience in a related field such as communication, sociology, media, or public relations; or holding a university diploma. All applicants must also demonstrate proficiency in French, attested by Universite TELUQ's own written French test or an equivalent recognized test.
