BA/BS in Mechatronics Engineering

Mechatronics Engineering is a Bachelor of Engineering major combining mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering with artificial intelligence. Graduates design, develop, and deploy robotics, automation systems, and the software that powers them. The program offers specialization streams in Robotics-Control-AI or Manufacturing-Automation, with an artificial intelligence and machine learning component integrated throughout the curriculum. The regular stream runs eight academic semesters (four years). A co-op option extends the program to five years with five work terms designed to ease the transition from academic study to a professional career; students who withdraw from the co-op stream typically require at least one additional summer academic semester to complete the non-co-op requirements. Graduates pursue careers in robotics engineering, automation engineering, control systems engineering, manufacturing engineering, and systems integration engineering, across sectors including government, healthcare, energy, transportation, and technology.
