Optional collaborative specializations are available in International Development, One Health, and Toxicology. Research infrastructure includes the CREATE Climate-Smart Soils program, an aquatic ecotoxicology facility, the university's insect collection, and the Honey Bee Research Centre. Full-time study is nominally completed in four years, with a part-time option available. Admission is generally restricted to applicants with a recognized MSc degree in a related field and a minimum academic standing of A- (80% or higher); in exceptional cases direct entry from an honours BSc is possible.
