Overview
The Master of Public Health (MPH) prepares students to respond to critical public health issues, including infectious and chronic disease, health promotion and protection, and climate change adaptation, with attention to the social, economic, and political root causes of health and disease and the interconnections between human, animal, and environmental health. The curriculum comprises 12 core courses covering epidemiology, health communication, health promotion, environmental public health, and infectious disease, combined with one or two four-month practicum placements and case-based, discussion-driven learning. The program is delivered on-campus in a classroom setting and is offered within a veterinary school, a distinctive positioning among Canadian MPH programs that supports specialized training in infectious and zoonotic disease and One Health. Admission is offered for a Fall start only. Full-time students complete the program in 20 months (five semesters); a part-time option extends completion to 40 months.
