BA/BS in Music

The Music minor at the University of New Brunswick's Fredericton campus is a 24-credit-hour concentration offered through the Faculty of Arts and open to students in any faculty who have completed 30 credit hours toward a degree. Students choose a primary focus in either performance or music history and appreciation, completing at least 12 credit hours in that area, with up to 6 credit hours available through private lessons and ensemble participation via the Centre for Musical Arts. Admission to the minor requires approval from the Director of Music alongside academic advising. The program supplements a student's primary degree with formal training or study in music rather than serving as a stand-alone credential. It suits students who want structured music study, whether performance-based or historical and analytical, alongside a degree in another discipline.
