The Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Clinical Engineering is a jointly offered program of the University of Ottawa and Carleton University, focused on the engineering, maintenance and management of medical technology within clinical and hospital settings alongside the broader biomedical engineering curriculum. Students complete 27 course units, comprising five compulsory courses, a seminar (BMG 6996), an internship or project component, and electives, finishing within two years of full-time study; part-time study is also available. Admission requires a bachelor's degree with a specialization or major, or the equivalent, in engineering, science, computer science or a related discipline, with a minimum admission average of 75% (B+), and demonstrated good academic performance in previous studies; applicants to the concentration must identify a professor willing to supervise their project. Applicants must be able to understand, speak and write fluently the language of instruction, English, with proof of linguistic proficiency required where applicable.
