Entry into the Computer Science major is competitive and is decided after first year based on performance in required computer science and mathematics courses. A notable structural feature is the Computer Science Professional Internship Program, an optional 12- or 16-month paid work placement with a sponsoring employer completed before the final year of study. The program can be taken full- or part-time, with delivery at the Saskatoon or Prince Albert campuses or off-campus. It suits students aiming for careers such as software developer, systems administrator, web designer or business systems analyst, as well as those planning to continue into graduate studies in computing.
