Overview

The Forest Resources Certificate builds understanding of forest resources in Saskatchewan through experiential learning in ecological classification, landscape dynamics, and data collection in forested settings. The certificate is offered only at the University of Saskatchewan's main campus in Saskatoon and is open to current USask students only. It requires 21 credit units: 9 required credit units from RRM 215.3, PLSC 213.3, or BIOL 228.3, with PLSC 213.3 preferred, plus PLSC 425.3 and SLSC 460.3, and 12 elective credit units chosen from a list of ecology, hydrology, and resource management courses. Admission requires completion of at least 18 credit units of post-secondary coursework with a minimum average of 60% on 18 or more transferable credit units, along with proficiency in English. Intake occurs in the Fall and Winter terms.
