Professional Communication Persuasive Communication Certificate

The Certificate in Professional Communication - Persuasive Communication (CPC-PC) is a 9-credit-unit certificate of proficiency delivered by the Ron and Jane Graham School of Professional Development in the College of Engineering. It prepares students for professional practice by developing communicative judgment, covering the theoretical foundations of persuasive communication alongside practical skills in written and oral communication, interpersonal exchange, and team or leadership contexts. Students complete three rhetorically grounded courses: two chosen from RCM 400.3, RCM 401.3, and RCM 402.3, plus one additional 400-level RCM course; each course can count toward only one professional communication certificate. Courses are delivered in a traditional in-person lecture format at the University of Saskatchewan's Saskatoon campus and are not currently offered online, in a modular format, or blended. Required and most elective courses run annually in the fall and winter terms, with select courses offered in spring and summer. The certificate is open to undergraduate students in any degree program and can also be completed as a stand-alone program.
