Overview
The Doctor of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Saskatchewan is an individualized, thesis-based program administered by the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies through the Interdisciplinary Studies Committee. It brings together techniques, tools, and theories from different fields, allowing students to develop a program of study that crosses traditional department and college boundaries where no existing discipline-specific program fits their research goals. Students are not restricted by traditional academic boundaries and work at the intersections of disciplines to advance understanding in ways only possible through an interdisciplinary approach. A faculty supervisor must be confirmed before a student can apply, and admission is not possible without one in place. The program has an expected length of four years and is delivered in person, with admission available for the September, January, and May terms.

Admission Requirements: Applicants require a master's degree from a recognized university, with a cumulative weighted average of at least 80% (USask grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study. Approval from a faculty supervisor is required before applying, as admission is not possible without one in place. Proof of English language proficiency may be required for international applicants and for applicants whose first language is not English.
