UFV's Applied Business Technology certificate trains students for office administration work through two delivery options: a six-month full-time program mixing online and hybrid classes, or a sixteen-month part-time program delivered fully online and asynchronously, with the hybrid option allowing in-person attendance at UFV's Clearbrook Centre or fully virtual participation. Coursework covers common office software including Adobe applications, Zoom, and Office 365, along with adaptive technologies, keyboarding, social media management, bookkeeping, business communications, and general office procedures. UFV positions the program for people entering the workforce for the first time, career changers, and even degree holders who want practical, current administrative skills, and the fully asynchronous part-time track in particular is designed so working professionals can study without fixed class times. Admission Requirements: The Applied Business Technology (ABT) Certificate's own admission page sets a single gate: all applicants must pass the ABT assessment to determine suitability for the program, sat on monthly assessment dates notified by email once an application has been processed; successful applicants may be accepted directly or placed on a waitlist. Neither the program overview page nor the how-to-apply page lists a minimum secondary-school grade, prior coursework, GPA or average, or an English-language proficiency test score (IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE, Duolingo or otherwise) as a condition of entry; the assessment itself is used in place of stated academic cut-offs. No portfolio, interview, work-experience, minimum age, or background-check condition is described. The certificate can be completed full-time in six months or part-time in sixteen months.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply directly to UFV: applications for Fall (September) 2027 entry open 1 October 2026, for Winter (January) 2027 entry opened 1 May 2026, and for Summer (May) 2027 entry open 1 October 2026; UFV publishes no closing date for any of these and instead admits many programmes strictly in application-date order once every required document has arrived, so applying soon after opening matters more than any deadline. Grade 12 students may apply from 1 October of their graduating year and must send final transcripts by 3 August. International applicants use UFV International's own windows - 1 October to 31 May for Fall, 1 May to 31 October for Winter and 1 October to 1 March for Summer - and are likewise assessed on a rolling, first-arrived basis until each programme fills. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
