Overview
The UFV Business Administration Certificate provides essential grounding in business law, accounting, microeconomics, and industry-leading productivity software. A selection of electives allows you the freedom to explore your own areas of interest or specialize in one key field. You may also complete courses in public or municipal administration at other institutions or by correspondence, and transfer your credits to UFV. Upon graduation, you can use your administrative expertise in a wide range of fields including marketing, manufacturing, retailing, human resources, accounting, banking, public relations, and more.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: UFV's Academic Calendar sets out two routes into the Business Administration Certificate. Applicants entering directly from secondary school need B.C. secondary school graduation or equivalent, or to be at least 19 years old before their first day of classes, plus the prerequisite for Calculus for Business (MATH 140); those upgrading their math can complete Introduction to College Math (MATH 094 and MATH 095) at C+ or better. Applicants entering on prior post-secondary study need the MATH 140 prerequisite plus one of: nine credits at the 100 level or above with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00; a two-year career/technical diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.50; or a bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.00. Neither pathway names a specific English-language test score on the program's own pages; applicants with proficiency questions are directed to UFV academic advising. The certificate starts in September.

Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply directly to UFV: applications for Fall (September) 2027 entry open 1 October 2026, for Winter (January) 2027 entry opened 1 May 2026, and for Summer (May) 2027 entry open 1 October 2026; UFV publishes no closing date for any of these and instead admits many programmes strictly in application-date order once every required document has arrived, so applying soon after opening matters more than any deadline. Grade 12 students may apply from 1 October of their graduating year and must send final transcripts by 3 August. International applicants use UFV International's own windows - 1 October to 31 May for Fall, 1 May to 31 October for Winter and 1 October to 1 March for Summer - and are likewise assessed on a rolling, first-arrived basis until each programme fills. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
