Overview
The Master of Science in Chemistry (Quantum Information) is a collaborative graduate program between the Department of Chemistry and the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo. Students complete original chemistry research together with advanced coursework and research projects in quantum information science, building a broad foundation that spans chemical and quantum disciplines. The program follows the standard Chemistry MSc structure, combining a research thesis with graduate coursework drawn from Chemistry and quantum-related fields. It is delivered on campus and is designed to be completed in 24 months of full-time study, with admission available in the Fall, Winter, and Spring terms. Graduates gain training suited to further doctoral study or to research and technical roles at the interface of chemistry and quantum technology, supported by the Institute for Quantum Computing's research facilities and cross-appointed faculty.
