Overview
Classical Studies at Western University is an undergraduate program centered on the language, literature, history, and archaeology of ancient Greece and Rome, with attention to how those civilizations continue to shape modern thought and institutions. Entry into SASAH with Classical Studies as a complementary programme requires an average of at least 70% across 3.0 principal first-year courses, including SASAH 1020E (or the former Arts and Humanities 1020E) at a minimum of 75%, plus 2.0 further courses, with no mark in the principal courses below 60%. International applicants present an equivalent secondary credential plus English proficiency: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 83 (no section below 20), per Western's general admission standard.

Application Deadline:Western applies through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre, which opens for Fall 2027 entry in late September 2026; Western's own equal-consideration deadline for full-time undergraduate study is 15 January 2027, the same date used for domestic (OUAC 101/105) and international applicants alike, since Western publishes no separate international closing date. Several named programmes carry their own earlier deadlines within the cycle: Medicine (MD) closes 1 October 2026, Law (JD) and Dentistry (DDS) close 1 November 2026, Education (BEd) closes 2 November 2026, and Western Integrated Science closes in early April 2027. Students already enrolled in an Ontario high school cannot be required to respond to an offer before 1 June 2027. Admission is not rolling: applicants are assessed against these published deadlines.
