The Master of Clinical Dentistry (MClD) in Orthodontics provides the academic background and clinical experience appropriate to the specialty of Orthodontics. The program is fully accredited by the Council on Education of the Canadian Dental Association and satisfies the academic requirements for specialty certification in Orthodontics. It is a full-time, on-campus, thesis-based program normally completed over nine terms (approximately three years), combining graduate coursework, supervised clinical practice and an original research thesis. Applicants must hold a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, or its equivalent, along with a strong academic record and at least one year of clinical experience in general or specialty dental practice, a general practice residency, an AEGD program, or a dental specialty program. The application package includes a statement of interest, transcripts, a curriculum vitae and letters of reference.

Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, or its equivalent, with a strong academic record and a minimum 'B' (75%) average, or equivalent, during dental school. At least one year of clinical experience in general or specialty dental practice, a general practice residency, an AEGD program, or a dental specialty program is required. Applicants must submit a statement of interest (250-500 words), transcripts, a curriculum vitae (maximum two pages), and three letters of reference, with at least one from a university faculty member. Applicants whose dentistry degree was completed where English was not the primary language of instruction must meet the program's English language proficiency requirements.
