This Bachelor of Arts in History is a four-year undergraduate degree delivered in person at Wilfrid Laurier University's Waterloo campus, with intakes in September and January. The curriculum examines historical periods, people, and events from cultural, social, military, and political perspectives, with final-year capstone seminars built around primary source research and independent study. First-year foundational courses develop academic writing and research skills before students specialize in areas such as applied history, culture and lived experience, global communities, or conflict and politics, and gain training in digital humanities methods. Optional study-abroad opportunities include travel courses to European battlefields, and an optional co-op stream adds three four-month paid work terms. Graduates pursue careers in education, law, government, research, journalism, and public service.
