This program leads to a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mathematics, offered full-time or part-time with Honours, Specialized Honours and Honours Minor options. Students build foundational mathematical concepts with applications in fields such as cryptography, economics, machine learning and financial engineering, with opportunities to take part in mathematics research projects alongside faculty. BA students choose electives from economics, business, psychology or philosophy, while BSc students choose electives from physics, astronomy, biology or chemistry, letting the program be tailored toward either an arts-based or a science-based course of study. Entry is available in fall, winter and summer for both first-year and upper-year applicants. The program suits students with strong quantitative interests who want a flexible mathematics foundation for careers or graduate study in data science, finance, research, education or related technical fields.
