The Athletic Therapy Certificate focuses on the prevention, evaluation, and management of neuro-musculoskeletal injuries related to athletics and physical activity. The program is accredited by the Canadian Athletic Therapists' Association and prepares students for professional certification in the field. It includes hands-on, experiential education courses, with opportunities to work alongside varsity and professional athletes as part of practical training. The certificate runs three years and is completed on campus on a full-time basis, with a Fall start term, delivered through the School of Kinesiology & Health Science. It is a concurrent certificate, earned alongside a Kinesiology & Health Science Bachelor's degree (BA or BSc), and students may pursue only one certificate at a time. Graduates of other Kinesiology degree programs are not eligible to apply.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Open only to current York students enrolled in the Kinesiology & Health Science degree program (BA or BSc) who meet the certificate's admission criteria. Graduates from York or another university with a Kinesiology degree are not eligible to apply.
