This MA in Translation Studies is designed for language professionals and for graduates in translation or another field who want to pursue research in translation. It serves two groups of applicants: those with a BA (Honours) in Translation who wish to deepen their knowledge, and those from other disciplines with translation experience or scholarly interest, who complete preparatory coursework. The program provides theoretical, conceptual, and methodological tools for the analysis of issues in translation, and can be completed by thesis, major research paper, or course work only. Classes are held at Glendon, York's bilingual campus, with most courses delivered on campus and roughly two courses per year offered online. Applicants must demonstrate competence in two languages, one of which must be English, and non-Translation BA holders sit an entrance examination. Admission requires a minimum B average, three letters of recommendation, a resumé or CV, and a statement of interest.
