PGDip in Democratic Administration

The Graduate Diploma in Democratic Administration is offered by the Graduate Program in Political Science at York University and awarded concurrently with a Master's or Doctoral degree. It is designed to equip graduate students with the analytical and practical insight needed to help build more democratic and responsive institutions, with a focus on institutional analysis, policy evaluation across social and economic issues, and alternative approaches to policy formation and implementation. The diploma is open to students from outside the political science program as well as those within it, and targets students seeking leadership roles in trade unions, non-profit organizations, state administration, and quasi-governmental organizations. Completion requires the course Democratic Administration and a major research paper, thesis, or dissertation on a related topic approved by the diploma coordinator.
