Overview

The Graduate Diploma in International & Security Studies gives Master's and Doctoral students at York University the opportunity to specialize in international and security studies, with the specialization noted on their official transcript. The diploma is pursued concurrently with a student's primary graduate degree rather than as a standalone credential, allowing students to combine coursework and research in their home program with a documented focus on international and security issues. Students apply for the diploma by completing a registration form alongside their enrolment in a relevant Master's or Doctoral program. As with York's other graduate diplomas, it does not confer a separate degree but records specialized study relevant to careers and further research in international relations, conflict and security studies, and is administered alongside the student's home graduate program rather than through a separate admissions process.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Open to students enrolled in a relevant Master's or Doctoral program at York University; applicants apply for the concurrent diploma by completing the program's registration form.
