BA/BS in Cosmetology

This programme trains cosmetology specialists to apply a holistic view of client health while delivering safe, high-quality beauty treatments and running a cosmetology business. Learning outcomes include explaining the body's physiological and pathological processes to identify health risks, analysing the composition of cosmetic products and the mechanisms of treatment equipment, building individualised short- and long-term care plans, and performing procedures in cooperation with other health specialists while maintaining hygiene standards. Field subjects covering 136 credits include anatomy and physiology, cosmetic chemistry, body massage, manicure and pedicure, dermatology, pharmacology, and clinical cosmetology, supported by thirty credits of practice spanning hand and foot care, product consulting, and two periods of client-facing service before a final internship. Thirty further credits of electives let students specialise in areas such as decorative cosmetics, spa technologies, aromatherapy, or Ayurvedic cosmetology, with some completing exchange placements abroad. Teaching blends lectures with practical work in real workplaces, and assessment is cumulative across theory, practical classes, and a final examination.
