The programme trains physical therapists to assess a person's functional state and self-sufficiency and to restore or improve health through movement, physical agents, and water-based therapy. Subject areas cover anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics, and ergonomics together with physiotherapy applied to geriatric, neurological, paediatric, and pregnant or gynaecological patients, classical and therapeutic massage, and mobilisation of the axial skeleton and limb joints. Forty credits of clinical practice assess the musculoskeletal system and rotate through therapeutic, geriatric, neurological, paediatric, and gynaecological placements before a twenty-credit final internship, thesis, and exam. Students can volunteer, join student government activities, and complete part of their training abroad through Erasmus exchanges in countries such as Latvia and Poland, and graduates may also set up independent private practice.
