This blended master's programme prepares nurse leaders whose professional work is grounded in current nursing science and evidence, covering health policy and how nursing and midwifery services are coordinated and managed, and the development of alternative solutions for health care delivery. Core subjects include health care and health-information technology, clinical standards, quality management and patient safety, and modern organisational management, each concluding with an exam or an independently completed project.
Students develop skills in nursing human-resource management and quality assurance through practical training in a health care facility, and learn to critically analyse scientific literature and independently plan and conduct research on health care problems from an interdisciplinary perspective. As a distinctive feature, students can build a prototype for a new healthcare service or product and observe nursing leaders in real working environments. Graduates can take on administrative and managerial roles as nursing administrators, or work across home, primary, inpatient, palliative, and ambulance care settings, with access to doctoral study in nursing.
