Overview
This Bachelor's programme pairs English with French, so students build skills in two widely used European languages. Throughout the course, attention goes to how each language is structured and how linguistic phenomena relate to one another. Students reach B2 level in French while their English develops further. Reaching that level in a second language is a stated aim of the degree.
Alongside the ancient world, literature and the study of language, courses cover the societies, politics and cultures of French-speaking countries. Specialised modules deepen linguistic knowledge, while elective and individual study subjects let students follow their own interests.
Working in two foreign languages builds linguistic and intercultural skills, and the multilingual profile is meant for careers in which employers value people who speak several languages.
