BA/BS in University College Maastricht

UCM delivers its three-year Liberal Arts and Sciences curriculum entirely in English, aimed at students with broad academic interests who do not want to commit to a single discipline. It offers close to 200 courses spanning almost every academic discipline, and each semester students build their own programme from the courses on offer, before settling at the end of the first year on one of three concentrations: Social Sciences, Humanities or Sciences. Course choices are made together with an academic advisor, matched to each student's future ambitions and plans. Alongside subject courses, students take an extensive skills-training track covering how to set up and carry out scientific research, debating, and presenting ideas clearly and persuasively, with particular attention given to writing skills; there is also the option to learn another foreign language and to study a semester abroad at a partner university somewhere in the world.
