Diploma in Common Engineering Programme

The Common Engineering Programme is a starting point for students who are interested in engineering but have not picked a field. Run by the School of Engineering, it lets them sample the engineering diplomas on offer and gain a broad understanding of each before deciding. Students may take up to a year to choose. After the first semester they can move directly into a diploma such as Sustainable Built Environment, Aerospace Engineering or Aviation Management. Students who are still undecided can pick the Engineering Management Cluster or the Engineering Cluster and select a diploma after the second semester. First-semester discipline modules include engineering design, engineering mathematics, analysing and visualising data for engineering, and fundamentals of unmanned systems. The programme gives students room to test their interests before committing to a field of study.
