Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering (with Integrated Foundation Year)

This four-year route adds an integrated foundation year ahead of the Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering BEng(Hons), developing maths expertise and confidence before degree study. The foundation year is shared with students from all engineering disciplines, which builds a broad network early on. Students then progress to the BEng, where they become creative engineers able to provide innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Shared foundation teaching means students meet peers who may later become collaborators on team projects, mirroring the way engineering work is organised in practice. A placement year can be added to the route, which then runs over five years. Entry requirements differ depending on whether applicants have studied maths and physics, so prospective students should check the tariff and subject expectations carefully.
