The associate of science in Engineering is built for students who intend to transfer and finish a bachelor's degree in an engineering field. Target fields include aerospace, biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, geological, materials and mechanical engineering.
The curriculum mirrors the early coursework of a bachelor's engineering degree. Students use digital design and 3D printing to visualize and build rockets, robots and sun-powered vehicles, and they work alone and in teams on mechanical, electrical, chemical and civil problems.
Students are encouraged to study the requirements of their intended transfer institution and to consult the college's advising and career center. Engineering classes are held during the day, with some online options, and prerequisite and general education courses are also offered in evenings and online.
Century is a public two-year community and technical college funded by the State of Minnesota, and eligible programs qualify for federal financial aid, with scholarships available through the college foundation.
