BA/BS in Architecture

This BA in Architecture is a design program that values critical thinking as much as making and craft. Many graduates continue into architecture school, while others move into design and built-environment careers. Admission does not require a portfolio. Students spend the first two years building thinking and communication skills while completing much of the university's core curriculum. In the junior year, they select an off-campus studio tied to a specific location, along with the coursework that accompanies it. The degree includes eight semesters of studio, supported by history, theory, and building technology courses. Students also complete a minor and a modern language requirement. The final studio centers on reflection and synthesis, and the IPAL pathway supports students who plan to pursue architectural licensure.
