MA/MS in Social Sciences, Other

Clemson's sociology, anthropology and criminal justice faculty teach this master's degree, which holds a Homeland Security STEM designation. It gives students solid training in how social scientists gather and analyze evidence, using perspectives from all three disciplines. Emphasis falls on applying theory, gaining field experience and sharpening research abilities, so graduates can design rigorous empirical studies and assess organizational programs and policies. The degree takes thirty graduate credit hours without a thesis or thirty-six with one, normally across three or four semesters. Required coursework spans qualitative and quantitative methods, social theory, survey or evaluation design and professional growth, and each student shapes the remaining courses together with an advisory committee. Prospective students should review the official program pages for current details before applying.
