AA/AS in Anthropology

Anthropology is the study of people through time. It covers the variety of human cultures, where humans fit among the primates, and how early civilizations arose, comparing biological and cultural adaptation worldwide across history. The transfer degree at Cosumnes River College follows the common lower-division pattern for anthropology majors at California State University schools. Students need 60 semester units that transfer, among them the Cal-GETC, and must keep a 2.0 minimum grade average. Every course in the major must earn at least a C, though a pass is accepted when the pass/no-pass option is used. An alternative science degree is available too, with maps for both Cal-GETC and the local general education pattern. Posted maps and a department contact let prospective students plan ahead.
