AA/AS in Accounting and Related Services

The accounting program trains students to start work as accounting or tax technicians. Core accounting classes are supported by other business courses and a solid general education foundation. Students develop the ability to use ethical frameworks when facing dilemmas, to explain what accounting contributes within industries and economies, and to apply analytical and technology skills to improve business processes. The curriculum fits a two-year degree or a certificate. Anyone aiming for a bachelor's in accounting should review the catalog of the intended transfer school for its exact requirements. Students should meet with a counselor to plan courses and confirm requirements at the school they hope to attend next. Advisors can help students sequence courses sensibly and check what employers or receiving schools expect. Speaking with faculty early also helps clarify goals, timing, and next steps.
