Program details

Overview

Music at Los Angeles Harbor College offers a degree and certificates for students who want to study performance, theory and applied music. All music courses transfer to California State University and University of California campuses and also count toward the degree and certificates. The curriculum includes performance ensembles, applied music study, commercial music, and classes in piano, guitar and voice. Music theory and musicianship are co-requisites, so students enroll in both in the same semester, and they are required for the certificates and degree. A fundamentals course and basic keyboard study are recommended before starting the first theory sequence. Current offerings can be found in the LAHC schedule catalog, through the student portal by searching the music subject, or by contacting the music office.
