Overview

This Bachelor of Arts Major, delivered by Bishop's University's Department of Music within the Faculty of Humanities, trains students in musical performance across classical, jazz, rock/pop, and musical theatre styles. Instruction is individualized and delivered in small classes, with regular performance opportunities built into the program. Students may combine the major with study in another discipline. The program can be completed in three or four years, with intake in both the Fall and Winter terms. Coursework develops technical musicianship alongside artistic and stylistic range, preparing students for performance-based and adjacent careers. Admission additionally requires an audition and a letter of musical background. Graduates commonly work as musicians, music teachers, audio engineers, sound technicians, production assistants, or music therapists, and the program also prepares students for further professional study in music.
