Overview
The Software Development Post-Diploma Certificate builds on a completed diploma or degree to prepare graduates for careers in software development, computer-applications development, database management, and mobile development. Over two terms, students develop coding principles, systems analysis, and solutions-design skills applied to business and consumer applications. The program is delivered in flexible learning spaces and is intended for applicants who already hold relevant technical education or work experience and want to specialize in software development. Special acceptance based on equivalent work experience, education, or training may be considered by the dean on a case-by-case basis. Applicants need credit in Math 30-1 or Math 30-2 or the equivalent. Students are required to have a Windows-based laptop meeting the program's technical specifications; MacOS devices are not supported. The program is offered by Bow Valley College's School of Creative Industries and Digital Technology.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Completion of a diploma or degree, with credit in Math 30-1 or Math 30-2 or the equivalent. Special Acceptance to the program may on occasion be approved by the dean based on equivalent work experience, education, and/or training.
