You'll take courses in building code, construction drawings, construction site processes, estimating, and more. Admission Requirements: The Construction Estimating Certificate (part-time) sets Category 3 English as its stated entrance requirement: English Studies 12 at 50% or equivalent. No math course is mandatory, but the program recommends recent completion of Math 12, MATH 0040 Mathematics Workshop, or MATH 0060 Introduction to BCIT Mathematics, or the BCIT Trades Entry Assessment, plus about six months of construction-industry experience and, for applicants with little site experience, a blueprint-reading course such as BLDG 0004 Residential Blueprint Reading. No GPA, portfolio, or interview is required. Applicants are accepted on a first-qualified basis as long as space remains, and international applicants need a valid BCIT study permit before starting.
