Developed for experienced carpenters, ironworkers and installers looking to expand into mass timber work, this certificate builds technical knowledge of mass timber construction and the management of mass timber projects, with particular emphasis on the installation phase. Practical skills cover on-site installation of mass timber structures, alongside problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork.

Admission Requirements: The Construction of Mass Timber Structures Associate Certificate (part-time) does not publish hard entrance requirements; enrolment needs departmental approval on a case-by-case basis, arranged by contacting the program coordinator for a registration package. The page lists, as recommendations rather than requirements: completion of BCIT's Carpentry Framing and Forming Foundation or Ironworker Foundation or equivalent, English 12 or equivalent, Math 10 or equivalent, basic computer proficiency, at least one year of relevant construction-site work experience, and a current (within three years) Fall Protection Training Certification. No standardized English test score or GPA is stated. International applicants need a valid BCIT study permit before starting, and the single intake runs each January.
