Overview
Digital Forensics involves collecting digital evidence from various devices, tools, or infrastructures such as computers, mobile devices, emails, hard discs, and cloud storage systems. Many industries in both the public and private sector are now looking for workers who possess such knowledge to investigate crimes.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: This is a Flexible Learning micro-credential rather than a formally admitted program: BCIT states no separate application is required and no English or French language test score is set, beyond a recommendation of English 12 or equivalent. Applicants are also recommended to hold a diploma or have completed two years of post-secondary education in computer science, along with some knowledge of operating systems. No portfolio, interview, minimum-GPA, or immunisation condition is stated. Students complete the three required courses and then email the program contact with their name, student number and mailing address to receive the credential. The program is open to international applicants studying from outside Canada or holding valid Canadian status other than a study permit; those on a study permit are not eligible for this program.

Admission is not institute-wide rolling, but many programs work first-qualified-first-accepted and can fill before the posted deadline, and several programs, mostly in Health Sciences, trades and graduate studies, run entirely separate application tables of their own.
